The 2021 World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC 2021) will be held from October 22nd to 24th at the Yantai International Expo Center in Shandong Province. The conference is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Shandong Provincial People's Government, and organized by the China Industrial Design Association, the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Yantai Municipal People's Government. It has received strong support from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the World Design Industry Organization.

This conference, with the theme of "Design · Digital Intelligence Era", has arranged supporting activities such as the opening ceremony, more than ten themed academic forums, exhibitions of excellent industrial design achievements at home and abroad, the launch conference of China's top 100 design industries, and design tours for docking exhibitions, discussions, and exchanges. These activities will be held through a combination of online and offline methods. The World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) is an international design event jointly organized by design organizations, institutions, enterprises, and universities from 46 countries and regions around the world. Its aim is to promote the deep integration of industrial design with economic and social development, and to facilitate design exchanges and cooperation between countries and regions. Since 2016, the conference has been successfully held for four sessions, forming a gathering platform for the global design industry, a cooperation platform for design entrepreneurs, and an exchange platform for high-end design talents. Several initiatives and themes leading the world have been released, and a series of cooperation projects have been reached. It has received high praise from the design industry at home and abroad and has become one of the important international events in the industrial design industry.
